I am running for the Virginia House of Delegates because we need effective leadership in Richmond to conduct the public’s business. The work isn’t flashy. Building roads and infrastructure, striving to improve public education, keeping our Triple-A bond rating and promoting an outstanding business environment – these aren’t hot-button issues, but they are the kind of tasks that cry out for hard workers who don’t worry about who gets the credit.
I’ve lived in Alexandria for more than 25 years. I’ve run my own business for most of that time, and I’ve met payrolls in good times and not so good times. I’ve served on boards and commissions, both public and private, and have devoted long hours to charities and related activities. I decided a long time ago that there is no better place to live and raise a family than right here in our community.
So now I want to go to Richmond and work with Delegates from all corners of the Commonwealth, to help build consensus, tone down the partisan bickering, and conduct public business like a business. In the weeks and months to come, let’s stay in touch and share our thoughts, so I can take the best of your ideas with me.
