Weekly Campaign Update - August 29th, 2007

Dear Friends,

As the kids return to school and the end of summer approaches, the pace of our campaign will pick up.  And with the Labor Day weekend usually marking the traditional start of the campaign season you will probably start seeing more of my yard signs popping up around town, receive a phone call from a volunteer, or get a letter in the mail talking about my campaign. All this, however, does not happen without the continued financial support of friends like you. Your contributions are helping to pay for the mail, phones, newspaper advertisements, and signs that it will take to win this campaign.

We have an important campaign finance report due soon for contributions received through Friday, August 31. If we can raise another $7,500 by Friday we will be able to report that our campaign has raised over $100,000. If you have not donated yet, I ask that you consider doing so by 5pm Friday. (Of course, if you would like to increase any contribution already made, we would be grateful for that, too.) I want you all to know that we are using your money wisely and in a very strategic manner. The Campaign Update:

Door to door effort ratcheting up
The most proven way to meet voters and talk to them about my campaign is by going door to door. I spend hours each week knocking on doors and talking to voters about our need for effective leadership in Richmond. This past weekend I was joined in my door to door effort by several volunteers, despite the 100+ degree weather. Many thanks to those kind voters who invited us inside for a breath of cool air and a refreshing drink. We are truly grateful.

Signs and bumper stickers are popping up around town
As you may have seen, our signs are popping up around the district. We have teams of volunteers going out every night to place signs in the yards of supporters. If you have not received a yard sign, just email me your name and address and I will have a volunteer bring you a sign this week. You can reach me at: Mark@MarkAllenforDelegate.com.  

Did you know that a bumper sticker on your car is worth $250 of free advertising? If you would like one of our old fashioned and very visible bumper stickers, just let me know and we will get one to you.

Volunteer Opportunities
Starting after Labor Day, we will have volunteer activities planned everyday. From stuffing envelopes, to making phone calls, to going door to door with me, there will always be something to do. If you have the time and can volunteer for an hour or two, please call the campaign office to sign up for one of these important projects.
