Mark Allen for Delegate Campaign Continues Impressive Fundraising Pace
Alexandria, Virginia – The campaign for first-time candidate Mark Allen, seeking election to the House of Delegates from the 45th District, announced today that it has collected $139,032 in donations since Allen announced his candidacy in early June. The effort raised $60,360 in contributions in the current reporting period that ran from July 1 through August 31, 2007.
“I am thankful for the tremendous support my candidacy has received so far. It is gratifying to know that so many people, representing all different background, seniors, families, business owners are embracing my campaign and are supporting this effort,” said Mark Allen. All funds have been raised without a single fundraising event.
“What is most gratifying is that the overwhelming majority of the funds my campaign has received have come from people who live, work, and vote in the City of Alexandria, Arlington County, or Fairfax County,” continued Allen. “It is the voters of this district that are giving their time, effort, and financial support to this campaign.”
“I am also excited about our online fundraising efforts. We were able to use new technology and the internet to raise close to $7,500 since beginning an online effort earlier this month. It has proven to be a very valuable tool in reaching new donors,” concluded Mark Allen.
The Mark Allen for Delegate campaign ends the reporting period with over $85,000 cash on hand.
